Western Dressage

Western Dressage: A foundation for the SCI horses

Western Dressage is a discipline that is near and dear to the SCI team as it was the very first sport that our horses were introduced to. Our first show was in 2017 and we have been competing every year since.

We have found WD to be a great foundation for our training and showing program with the SCI horses. The focus on harmony between horse and rider, relaxation and forwardness in the horse, and obedience to the aids perfectly reflected the goal and focus of our existing training methods.

The SCI horses have stood out at the shows and have been praised for their expressive gaits, calm and reasonable demeanor, and willingness in the ring. Our breed ambassador Cochise has held many local and national championship titles with the nationally recognized organization WDAA.
